Katharina Joy Book (DE/USA, 1995)
is a writer and performer based in Berlin, Germany.
Usually, I work with themes that challenge the time and space of classical theatre: For example, weather changes in an unstable climate (Tornado Watch, 2023); the erotic experience of death (Yours Now, 2022) or a playing field without an event (hills hills etc etc, 2021). Every project deals in different ways with the subtle meeting points of body, language and text in live performance.
I also work as a dramaturge and stage manager in Berlin's independent theatre scene. Iām a long-standing collaborator of Ariel Efraim Ashbel and friends, most recently on The Omer Count (2024).
